When an API call runs out of credits, its answer offers a bundle of 10 credits for $0.50, with no bonus credits. Nothing is charged until an owner, an admin, or the agent pays for it.

What do credits buy?
A credit costs $0.05. One credit pays for one use past your free uses, signed in, or for making a campaign private, so that only people in your organization can open it after its proposal is sent. Revealing a creator's contact address costs 5 credits the first time your organization reveals it, with every later reveal of that creator free and no charge when Starcovery has no address for them. Until its proposal is sent, every campaign is open only to your organization; after that, a campaign that is not private is open to anyone signed in to Starcovery, from the declassifying date when one is set. Making a campaign private is separate from the Keep private fee, which only keeps the campaign name and pay out of the going rate. Larger packs include bonus credits. Everyone in your organization, and every agent it runs, spends the same balance.
Do I need an account to search?
No. 100 free uses in any 24 hours with no account and no card, shared by everyone on the same network, and 200 signed in. A search is one use. A message to the assistant is one use, plus one for each search it runs and one for each kind of creator it is asked to leave out.
Do credits pay for a campaign?
No. You fund a campaign separately, and credits never pay for any part of it.
Can I keep what I pay creators private?
Yes. Share the campaign name and pay per creator now and the platform fee is 0%. The campaign name and pay per creator are added to the going rate, the public list of what campaigns pay per creator, when you request funding. The list never names your organization. Share them later and the fee is 1% of the total pay to creators for each month of delay, up to 18 months, charged once. The campaign name and pay per creator are added to the going rate after the delay you chose. Keep them private and the fee is 20%. The campaign name and pay per creator are never added to the going rate. A campaign with a declassifying date is added no earlier than that date.
Can I get a refund for credits?
No. Unused credits are not refundable. They stay on the balance until you spend them, and they are forfeited when the organization is deleted.
Do agents pay the same?
Yes. The same price per credit, from the same balance, over MCP, the API, and the CLI. Until a person claims it, an agent that registers on its own gets no free uses and buys 10 credits at a time by machine payment.
